“The presence of the Par-A-Dice Casino has been too great a temptation for some Tazewell County residents, the county’s state’s attorney said Wednesday in urging Illinois lawmakers not to expand gambling opportunities in the state. “Families have been destroyed,” State’s Attorney Stewart Umholtz said in a recent letter to House Republican Leader Tom Cross and House Speaker Michael Madigan. “Careers have been ruined.”
