“iMEGA attempt to overturn the UIGEA will be heard September 4. Latest news on the litigation launched by the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association (iMEGA) seeking the overthrow of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on constitutional grounds is that a hearing date has been set for the issue before Judge Mary L. Cooper of the US District Court in Trenton, New Jersey.”

Parking a hurdle in poker hall plan (Nashua Telegraph, 07/12/07)
“NHCG hopes to open The River Card Room, a limited stakes gaming establishment with potentially 15 tables to play the popular Texas hold ’em poker. Under state law, NHCG can only operate if a nonprofit organization has committed to receiving 35 percent its daily revenue, for a maximum of 10 days in a fiscal year. The company is currently considering setting up shop in the former ArcLight store on 94 W. Pearl St., as well as another undisclosed location.”

Tri-State would be all-in for poker event (The Charleston Gazette, 07/12/07)
“The Tri-State Racetrack doesn’t provide table games. (Tough to Texas hold ’em if you can’t hold ’em.) But if the Kanawha County voters approve the games on Aug. 11 a benefit may just be a future bid on a WSOP leg. “It’s in our plans to have tournaments,’’ said Tri-State general manager Cathy Brackbill. “Poker would probably be our most popular game. And at some point we’d love to take it to a national level.”
